The two iPod Touches that I purchased for Christmas were not initialized, so I was forced to download and install the iTunes 7.4 software to initialize the iPods! Is it too much to ask Apple to pre-initialize their devices?

Initialize the devices and do not force consumers to use their worthless software. Oh, QuickTime is no longer an optional component, it must be installed too! I installed iTunes 7.4, initialized the iPods, and uninstalled the software except the iPod service.

I use Floola 2.4 iPod management software to copy music to the iPod Touches versus using iTunes software. Floola 2.4 allows videos to be added to the iPod, but I have not tried it with the Touches. I will try it later tonight and post an update.

I purchased two 16GB iPod Touches for Christmas and needed covers, so I stopped by the local Apple store. They were out of the iSkin Touch covers, so I purchased a set of Griffin Elan Form covers at a local retailer.

All of my iPods are protected with iSkin brand covers, so I was hesitant to purchase another brand. The Griffin Elan Form covers are hard shell polycarbonate with bonded leather front and back.

I have to admit that I really like the cases. The cases are slim, fit well, and the leather and stitching look great. Installation was easy, including application of the static peel screen protector.

The only issues are the slight imperfections found in the stitching and no belt clip. If you are searching for a slim, durable, hard case for the iPod Touch, take a look at the Griffin Elan Form.
