I am sampling various old school rap stations on Live365.com and am currently listening to a Rapper’s Delight remix. I will not write about the history of The Sugarhill Gang or the song, instead I wanted to state that I never tire of this song.
It is without a doubt a classic. The Good Times base line from Bernard Edwards is still hot! I attended the v101 Freestyle Explosion concert at Arco Arena in September and saw them perform live for the first time.
I grew up listening to The Sugarhill Gang and must admit that it was odd seeing them performing live. They are older, but their performance was great with lots of energy and crowd interaction. I hope to see them again soon.
