WordPress 2.3.2 security release was available for download on December 29, 2007. I planned on upgrading this weekend, but I have other plans. So, I performed the 2.3.2 version upgrade earlier this evening.
Not so fast Ricky Racer! I did not overwrite the 2.3.1 files as instructed in the upgrade instructions; instead I performed a DIFF of 2.3.1 and 2.3.2 to identify the updated files and overwrote only those files that changed in 2.3.2.
While performing the DIFF operation, I noticed that in addition to the security-related changes the 2.3.2 release includes an updated version of the Akismet plugin. No need for a plugin upgrade too, nice!
Below are the files that changed in 2.3.2:
- .\wp-admin\includes\file.php
- .\wp-admin\admin.php
- .\wp-admin\install.php
- .\wp-admin\setup-config.php
- .\wp-content\plugins\akismet\akismet.php
- .\wp-includes\formatting.php
- .\wp-includes\functions.php
- .\wp-includes\pluggable.php
- .\wp-includes\post.php
- .\wp-includes\query.php
- .\wp-includes\taxonomy.php
- .\wp-includes\version.php
- .\wp-includes\wp-db.php
- .\wp-app.php
- .\wp-mail.php
- .\wp-settings.php
- .\xmlrpc.php
